Can I be/have a caregiver for a medical marijuana patient in Georgia?

Yes, medical marijuana patients in Georgia can have a caregiver.

Caregiver Requirements:
  • Legal guardian(s) of an adult with one or more qualifying conditions specified in the law.
  • Parents or legal guardians of a minor child with one or more qualifying conditions specified in the law.
    • If there is more than one parent or legal guardian, each may apply for a separate card.
  • A patient may have a maximum of two caregivers and each will receive a Low THC Oil Registration Card.
  • $25 nonrefundable fee.

Here's how the caregiver process works:

  1. After approval, the Leafwell physician will enter the patient's and caregiver’s information into the Georgia Low THC Oil Registry.

  2. A Low THC Registry Card will be issued to the patient and caregiver and sent to the closest county Public Health Office for pickup.

  3. The patient and caregiver will be notified when the cards are ready for pickup (within 2-3 weeks) and pay $25 for each Low THC Registry Card.
