How much cannabis can I possess in Texas with an MMJ Prescription?
There are no defined possession limits for medical marijuana patients in Texas. However, state law caps the total THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) in any product at 1% by weight. While this can seem like a small amount, many patients still have access to medicine with therapeutic doses in licensed dispensaries.
If a patient requires an early refill or prescription change, their certifying physician can update the prescription in the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas (CURT).
It is not legal for a medical marijuana patient to grow their own cannabis plants in Texas, even if they are registered with CURT.
