Minors under 18 can qualify for an Iowa medical marijuana card with consent from a parent or legal guardian who will serve as their caregiver.

An online consultation with a Leafwell healthcare provider costs $99. You will not be charged if your child is not approved.

Here's what to expect from the minor application process:

• The minor must have a completed healthcare practitioner form signed by their certifying provider to submit with the caregiver application. A separate patient application is not required.
• $25 nonrefundable caregiver application fee.
• Minor patients do not receive their own cards.
