How often do I need to renew my Virginia Medical Marijuana Card?
Virginia medical marijuana certificates are valid for one year and can be renewed online.
Renewal consultations with Leafwell cost $99, and you'll only be charged if approved. Plus, when you renew with Leafwell, we'll send you a reminder 30 days before your certificate expires so you can avoid a lapse in coverage.
Here's a summary of the renewal process:
- Sign in to Leafwell, or if you're new to Leafwell, register as a renewal patient here.
- Speak to a Virginia-licensed healthcare provider online.
-
Once approved, they will submit a digital written certification directly to the state.
-
You will receive an email from the state that provides access to a digital "Validation of Written Certification" card.
